If you were born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, you could have money sitting in a Child Trust Fund (CTF).
CTFs are long-term, tax-free savings accounts set up by the government. A small amount of money was deposited into each account, and the funds become available to claim when the account holder turns 18. The average amount claimed is around £2,200, but hundreds of thousands of accounts remain unclaimed.
